Detailing Department

Our detailers convert engineering drawings into fabrication shop drawings. The shop drawings contain the “details” for generating the models needed for the plans to fabricate the steel components. The detailing plans are then checked against the customer’s engineering specs before being handed off to the shops.

Computers and automation have speeded up this painstaking, precise system. It requires a lot of teamwork. Members of the Detailing Department work on several projects simultaneously to keep everything moving on schedule for on-time delivery. Detailers pay close attention throughout the process in order to catch any problems as early as possible. The department follows this unwritten motto: Get it right the first time.
